Everybody's different, but here's a thought.
When was the last time you praised yourself?
(Let me make you a virtual cup of tea while you curl up in a chair and think about it...) Really, it's important. So many of us are quick to praise other people, but compliment ourselves?
Not often.
This is a photo of my son's 200+ year old cello. It's so beautiful! His cello reminds me that it's hard to praise ourselves when we know the world is filled with...
expertise,
beauty,
success,
talent.
Many musicians have loved and played this cello in the past two centuries, and some of them were brilliant. Is it any wonder that sometimes we think, who am I?
Everywhere we look, we see the highlight reel of people's lives. Instagram. Facebook. Twitter and Snapchat.
The world is noisy. The crowd is loud. The pond is full of people who do what we do. You can read more about that here.
It's easy to overlook the good in ourselves. That's why I'm hoping today you'll praise yourself a little. Go on, please try it. I'm 100% sure you deserve it.

A treat for you: Sally Maer (Cello Diva & ABC recording artist) was my son's first cello teacher when he started at age 5. Here's Sally from a previous album, Celtic Cello, playing "On Your Shore." Her latest album is Cello at the Opera and she has several more. Enjoy...
