It was a big week, and I have to admit that I'm a little weary. You too?
Thanksgiving was celebrated, Christmas is coming, end of school year festivities will soon happen in Australia. There are launches and parties and award ceremonies and people, people, people to love and help and celebrate.
It's all good.
And it's a little tiring.
That's why I wanted to share the Instagram post (above) from @christinehassler For people pleasers everywhere, this message is huge: we need to know what our job is, and what it isn't. I don't know Christine personally (not yet!!), and if she were at my kitchen table drinking tea right now, I'd love to say THANK YOU. What a great reminder.
Not my job vs. My job. It's so important to get this straight!
For everyone who officially celebrated Thanksgiving this week and for everyone who didn't, may we all give thanks -- and be thanked. We need both to keep from being weary.
Enjoy your weekend (& squeeze in some rest!)
PS. A fun photo of me and my writing-besties, taken at a Children's Book Council of Australia party this week...just so you know it's not all work and no play! (I'm the silver-haired writer on the left!) Hope you have some fun today! And if you're looking for more inspiration, I've written a helpful blog post here on starting where you are and here on the best question you can ever ask yourself.
