Where's my unicorn? And the daisies? And the happy feelings?
Do you ever want to spit the dummy* and say that? (Translation for all you gorgeous Americans & Canadians...a dummy is a pacifier or soother).
Whatever you call it, ME TOO.
Some days make me want to spit the dummy. But then I remember these words from Gary Vaynerchuk, the father of hustle and entrepreneurship. Gary Vee's not someone I follow, but I agree with him here:
Appreciation gets us further every time.
Remember when I wrote about Jess Lively's rampages of appreciation? When things get tough, I know this: it's time to get my rampage on.
How?? It's so easy.
- Look around
- Appreciate everything
Smog-free air, clean drinking water, having a mobile phone and a place to sleep. The green of spring leaves, shells at the beach, a faithful, adorable pup, a warm blanket, family.
When you want to spit the dummy, remember ... complaining has a Return on Investment of ZERO. Get your rampage on for some instant happy.
It's the fastest way to turn around what's happening in your world.
P.S. GIRLS...I know you noticed my roots (above)!! Hello growing out the grey non-gracefully! I did it and I decided not to hide it. I'll tell you the story about Why I Decided to Go Silver at 49...soon. Stay tuned!
P.S. I'm still so excited about JACARANDA SNOW, my optimism & Flow picture book for kids! You can order yours here...and read the juicy backstory about JACARANDA SNOW here. I was so lucky to be a guest on The Lively Show a couple of weeks ago, where I talked about finding my awesome Aussie publisher. Interview is here! (Thank you for your love & support. Together we can help kids around the world! Big big hugs!)
